NVIDIA Introduces DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation: A New Era of AI-Driven Graphics Performance

NVIDIA has unveiled DLSS 4, the latest iteration of its Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, introducing a groundbreaking feature called Multi Frame Generation. This advancement enables the generation of up to three additional frames for every traditionally rendered frame, potentially amplifying frame rates by up to eight times compared to conventional rendering methods.

Multi Frame Generation leverages enhanced AI models and the new 5th Generation Tensor Cores found in NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. These GPUs are the first to incorporate GDDR7 video memory, offering increased memory bandwidth for superior performance.

This technological leap facilitates 4K gaming at 240 frames per second with full ray tracing, delivering unprecedented visual fidelity and responsiveness. At launch, DLSS 4 will be supported by 75 games and applications, including popular titles like “Alan Wake 2” and “Cyberpunk 2077.” For games awaiting updates, NVIDIA provides DLSS Override switches within its drivers and applications to enable the benefits of DLSS 4.

In addition to Multi Frame Generation, DLSS 4 introduces significant upgrades to its AI models, enhancing performance and image quality while reducing ghosting and VRAM usage. These improvements are designed to work seamlessly with the complete suite of DLSS technologies, ensuring a comprehensive enhancement to the gaming experience.

The GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, including models such as the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, are set to be available starting January 30, 2025. These GPUs feature the new Blackwell architecture, which continues the emphasis on high graphics frequencies and large L2 caches, and include the 12V2×6 connector, a revision aimed at improving power delivery and safety.

With DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA continues to push the boundaries of AI-driven graphics rendering, offering gamers and creators enhanced performance, superior image quality, and a more immersive experience.
